Truck driver could face death penalty in Texas human smuggling case

US authorities have charged the driver of an overheated truck found in Texas with “transporting illegal immigrants” - a felony offence for which he could face capital punishment if convicted.

The bodies of eight people were found in the truck in San Antonio, Texas, a two-hour drive from the border between the US and Mexico.

Two others died later at the hospital.

Al Jazeera's Andy Gallacher reports from San Antonio, Texas.
